Council staff have confirmed this week that Council is intending to start work before the forthcoming local government election to install more areas of bitumen netball courts at John Fisher Park.
This sort of action is precisely why Save Our Suburbs has candidates standing in this election. Council is pressing ahead with this action despite vast objection from the community, and without following any due process in terms of a development application and impact studies being publically exhibited.
Voice your concern immediately to Council, the Minister for Local Government and your local State Member Mike Baird.

NOT HAPPY DICK
This sounds like the Administrator hoping to prove a point before he abandons ship - I will happily tie myself to a tractor or bulldozer.
This issue is now getting really serious with Council now having fenced off the area concerned and intending to start some form of site investigation works involving the digging up of over 500sqm of our park!
If you don't want our park being covered in bitumen get down to protest on Friday 5 September at 8:30am by the Curl Curl Youth Hall.
You said it in three words Ken ... NOT HAPPY DICK. It's alright for him, next week he just walks away from this mess. I thought he'd come to clean up the messes not create them. More power to Save Our Suburbs to get into council and make some sensible decisions at last.
